This post is about a recent feedback we have received from a Primary Reading Specialist, Pam Weldon, M.Ed. after using WriteReader app with her students. We are very excited to share it with you all.
WriteReader is a great resource to introduce process writing to young children (also my favorite)! My students love to use it to create personal narratives (this includes my most reluctant writers). This app promotes proper phonemic spelling and easily improves literacy outcomes for my young writers. Freely, my first graders become more confident in their ability to write. Through multiple modalities (visual, auditory, tactile, kinesthetic), my students learn to sound out words from their speaking vocabulary and write exactly what he/she hears. This process promotes proper sound/letter associations; thus, my students write what they say and read what they have written. More importantly, this App allows me to correct student writing samples without crossing out and/or marking up stories with red ink! Without a doubt, my students and I give this App five stars! ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪
