Using CARES Act funding to purchase WriteReader Premium

The CARES Act funding provides the opportunity for schools to invest in educational technology to address the literacy gap.

WriteReader is a proven literacy tool that improves students’ literacy skills through the creation of personalized digital books. Students can practice curriculum standards and literacy skills through creative writing tasks with the image bank, develop writing skills with the support of the teacher and educator text box, and show what they know using the new template feature. Being a web based program WriteReader is accessible for educators and students in any kind of learning environment.

Why use CARES Act funding on WriteReader?

Literacy development and social emotional learning
With WriteReader Premium, schools and districts can support their students’ literacy development, social emotional learning skills, and provide support for English language learners. WriteReader gives students a platform to publish their writing to an audience, and allows teachers and students to easily share student created books with families. This is great for building home-school relationships and community.

The WriteReader website provides a variety of ready-to-use lesson plans and writing prompts and ideas for teachers. We are also happy to provide additional teacher training through webinars about how to get the most out of WriteReader.

Feel free to reach out for any questions or references of how other districts are using WriteReader (support@writereader.com)
